Their duty is to protect wildlife plus the anti-fight units and all tourism in the region. The Mara River The Mara River originates from the Napuiyapi Swamp and highlands of Kenya. The Mara and Nyangores River act as water sources for both wildlife animals and human being settling along the Mara routes. These two rivers do come together to form the Mara River which hosts the great wildebeest migration drama due the fact it flows through Serengeti and Maasai Mara national and it ends up in Lake Victoria. Mara River is the paramount water source in Maasai Mara national which supplies water throughout the year to the diversity of the majestic wildlife in the reserve. In the months of July to October in the dry season, the river hosts the year round great migration which is the famous wilderness drama where millions of wildebeests accompanied by the herds of Zebras, Thomas gazelles struggle to cross the Mara river while the predators like lions, crocodiles among others enjoy an easy catch to feast on them during the crossing period.
